Senior Buyer- Pharmaceutical Construction

Our client is a European leader in construction and fit out of pharmaceutical buildings. As a senior buyer, you’ll manage the procurement of materials, goods, & services for assigned projects, to optimising the cost, quality, & service.

You’ll drive added value through sourcing strategically, value engineering, innovation delivery & risk management. Deliver best in class by being professional, competitive, using efficient buying processes, controls, & systems for the projects. Mentor & potentially leading junior procurement personnel.

You will:

  • Be responsible for procurement to pay process from sourcing to invoice clearance.
  • Conduct complex bid process for equipment, materials & / or services & do commercial evaluations.
  • Create Procurement Schedules with project teams & planning function.
  • Write Procurement Project delivery plans
  • Develop procurement strategy for core commodities.
  • Secure the quality & timely delivery of goods &/or services required for assigned projects.
  • Negotiate vendor alliances, rebate agreements, MSA (master service agreements.)
  • Assist in the reallocation or disposal of excess materials.
  • Ensure that the Authority Matrix is followed stringently.
  • Create internal reports.
  • Expected to work with only general supervision.
  • Mentoring & potentially leading junior procurement personnel.
  • Identify new supplier sources & recommend new sourcing strategies in assigned area.
  • Co-ordinate the logistics of goods &/services required for assigned projects.
  • Conduct external reporting (Outside of Procurement Department)
  • Assist in proposals support when required.
  • Work with other buyers & Line Manager to eliminate wasteful processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Line Manager

You will bring:

  • Construction buying experience related to pharmaceutical construction
  • Experience in a similar role within an engineering fit out or construction company.
  • Degree in supply chain or similar
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ideally 4 to 6 years in a similar role.
  • Previous ERP experience.
  • Some travel will be required to Europe
  • Results-driven with project management skills
  • Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, & resilience – flexible regarding tasks, shifting priorities etc.
