Senior Underwriter

Sanderson are partnering with a leading insurance group to recruit an experienced Senior Underwriter, hybrid working two days per week in the Dublin office. In this role, you'll make decisions on large and complex risks while developing deep technical and medical expertise. Key Responsibilities

• Assess new applications and determine medical and financial requirements in line with company philosophy
• Evaluate complex medical and financial risks, including large case management
• Liaise with Chief Medical Officer and reinsurers
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Communicate effectively with brokers, employers, customers, and medical professionals

What We're Looking For

• Several years of relevant underwriting experience
• Strong analytical reasoning and decision-making capabilities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Commercial awareness and customer-focused mindset
• Organised approach with a positive, solution-focused attitude
• Knowledge of risk, control, and regulatory requirements

Desirable:

• Interest in developments in underwriting and protection topics
• Broad systems and data analysis skills
• Diploma in Life & Disability Underwriting DLDU or working towards equivalent qualification
