Role Overview

This is a high-impact role responsible for shaping and evolving a market-facing protection proposition in a competitive, broker-led environment.

As Senior Protection Proposition Executive, you will drive the design, governance, and optimisation of protection products-ensuring they are commercially competitive, regulator-ready, and deliver clear, measurable customer outcomes. This role requires strong technical depth, independent judgement, and the ability to operate across multiple senior stakeholder groups.

You will sit at the centre of product, distribution, and risk-translating strategy into tangible proposition improvements that directly influence growth, broker engagement, and customer value.


Role Purpose

To manage the end-to-end lifecycle of protection propositions, ensuring products remain commercially viable, compliant with Irish regulatory requirements, and aligned with evolving customer and broker expectations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, enhancement, and ongoing optimisation of protection products.
  • Own all customer and broker-facing proposition documentation-ensuring clarity, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive new product launches and material changes through governance frameworks, securing cross-functional approval.
  • Ensure full alignment with Irish regulatory standards, including CPC requirements and disclosure obligations.
  • Partner with Distribution to strengthen broker adoption, including delivering training, positioning, and technical support.
  • Act as the internal subject matter expert on protection products, providing insight to senior stakeholders.
  • Continuously assess proposition performance, identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.

Stakeholder Environment

You will operate across a complex stakeholder landscape, including:

  • Product and Proposition leadership
  • Distribution, Sales and broker networks
  • Underwriting and Claims (technical and quality functions)
  • Actuarial and Finance (pricing, performance, profitability)
  • Risk, Compliance and Legal (governance and regulatory oversight)
  • Operations and Customer Service (delivery, complaints, outcomes)
  • Marketing (proposition positioning and communications)

Success in this role depends on your ability to influence without authority and align competing priorities across commercial, regulatory, and operational teams.


Governance & Risk Accountability

  • Own proposition-level risk and controls, ensuring alignment with the organisation's Risk Management Framework.
  • Lead risk assessments for product changes, communications, and distribution activity.
  • Identify and escalate material risks with clear, commercially grounded recommendations.
  • Contribute to regulatory engagement and internal risk reviews, providing robust challenge and insight on proposition performance and customer outcomes.

Skills, Experience & Knowledge

Essential:

  • Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA), in good standing
  • Proven experience in proposition, product, or technical insurance roles
  • Strong understanding of the Irish protection market and broker distribution model
  • Experience operating within structured governance and approval frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail
