Fleet Tool & Plant Buyer

Location: Helsinki, Finland

We are partnering with a leading international engineering and construction organisation delivering complex projects and due to continued growth, there is this great opportunity for a Fleet Tool & Plant Buyer. This role will play a key part in supporting project delivery through the procurement and hire of tools, plant, equipment and related services, ensuring quality, value and availability across multiple projects. You will be responsible for delivering an efficient, professional sourcing and supplier management purchasing processes.

You will.

  • Working closely with project teams, suppliers and internal stakeholders, you will support the full procurement cycle from sourcing through to payment and invoice resolution.
  • Purchase and hire plant, tools, equipment, materials and services for assigned projects.
  • Manage the procurement to pay process from sourcing through to invoice clearance support.
  • Source suppliers and negotiate commercial agreements.
  • Ensure quality, cost effective and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Conduct bid analysis and process purchase orders.
  • Develop and maintain procurement schedules in collaboration with project teams and planning functions.
  • Liaise with suppliers and finance teams to resolve invoice queries.
  • Prepare regular reports on procurement activity and performance.
  • Build strong relationships with project teams, suppliers and other key stakeholders.
  • Negotiate supplier partnerships, framework agreements and rebate arrangements.
  • Support the reallocation or disposal of surplus plant and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures and approval authorities.
  • Conduct site visits and engage directly with project teams.
  • Travel within Europe as required to visit suppliers and colleagues

Essential Experience

  • Minimum three years' experience in a procurement, buyer or purchasing role within engineering, construction or a related industry.
  • Proven supplier negotiation experience.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast paced project setting.
  • Being happy to fly/drive to other EU states at short notice and without the need for a visa of any kind.

Desirable Experience

  • Degree/Equivalent in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business
  • SAP experience.
  • Knowledge of construction tools, plant or equipment procurement.
  • Experience supporting large scale engineering or construction projects.
