Freight Settlement Specialist

Global Leading Company located in Kildare have a permanent opportunity available for a Freight Accounting Specialist, working as part of a successful team of three and a wider department of twenty. Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Procurement to ensure transport rates are being applied accurately and aligned to contract agreements
  • Use agreed rates to create and maintain the pricing schedule for logistics service providers
  • Be able to interpret the pricing schedule and provide analysis and reporting for management
  • Work with LSPs to monitor rate application reviewing invoices to ensure accuracy
  • Investigate and resolve any invoicing discrepancies and where necessary be able to justify differences
  • Monitor invoicing received and liaise with LSPs to ensure invoices are received in a timely manner aligned to internal cost management procedures
  • Ensure invoicing documentation is uploaded and recorded in the correct format
  • Record spot market prices reported through the systems and agree and execute required settlements
  • Support the development of reporting and dashboards to measure KPIs


Qualifications & Experience required

  • Hold a relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Logistics or equivalent
  • At least 18 months accounting experience working in the freight forwarding or logistics industry
  • Experience managing sensitive data with confidentiality and diplomacy
  • Proven experience explaining procedures in a manner that influences action
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in Master data creation and data analysis
