Head of ICT, Operational & Business Transformation Risk

Sanderson are partnering with a leading Global Insurance Group to recruit a Senior Risk Leader for the role of Head of ICT, Operational & Business Transformation Risk. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, this role is pivotal in shaping and implementing risk management strategies, particularly focusing on business transformation initiatives. Hybrid working, two days per week in the Dublin office.

Key Responsibilities:

Information & Technology Risk:

• Provide second line opinions on the identification and mitigation of key information and technology risks.
• Assess the scope and adequacy of security projects, disaster recovery processes, and third-party oversight.
• Offer risk advice and challenge on key IT projects and initiatives.
• Support strategic risk management planning by staying abreast of key business, regulatory, and IT trends.

Operational Risk:

• Develop and maintain an operational risk management framework, including policies and controls.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify trends and emerging risks.
• Collaborate with business units to develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Monitor and report on operational risk metrics to senior management.

Business Transformation Risk:

• Lead the identification and assessment of risks related to business transformation projects.
• Work with business units to evaluate the impact of transformation initiatives and develop mitigation plans.

Experience:

• At least 10 years in an insurance or financial services environment, with exposure to compliance or sustainability matters.
• Skills: Strong stakeholder relationship management, team leadership, and extensive product and industry knowledge.
• Qualifications: Insurance qualification with relevant experience in operational risk. Expertise in Technology Risk Frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ISF, ISO27000 series).
• Attributes: Ability to manage multiple deliverables under time pressure, strong analytical problem-solving skills, and a comprehensive understanding of IT systems and controls.
