Financial Controller - Part Time

Sanderson are partnering with a transformative technology group in the renewables sector, who are committed to innovation and excellence, and they are looking for a talented Financial Controller to join their dynamic team.
This position is a 9 Month Fixed Term Contract on a part time basis (3 days hybrid working per week)
As a Financial Controller, you will lead the financial control, budgeting, and forecasting processes. You will develop strong working relationships with all stakeholders, ensuring clear communication with senior management and non-financial staff. Your responsibilities will include producing timely financial management information, overseeing the annual budget and forecast process, maintaining the integrity of accounting systems, and conducting financial oversight of expenditures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of the monthly management accounts within the timelines set out and provide financial commentary on the same, this to include full analysis of all variances versus Budget and latest Forecast.
- Provide financial advice and support and updates to the key business personnel
- To provide monthly analysis and in-depth reporting on financial performance
- To manage and develop best practice accounting policies and internal financial controls and to ensure accounting policies comply with the relevant accounting standards.
- To ensure all statutory returns are made accurately and on-time.
- Delivering all finance aspects of the annual budget and forecast process
- To coordinate the group audits and taxation reviews.
- To liaise with external advisers, bankers, insurance companies, and financial institutions.
- Participate in cross-functional process improvement initiatives
- Collate Board reports for review with the Exec
- Preparation of key financial information to senior management.
- Develop excellent working relationships with all stakeholders in the business
- Control & Analysis of payroll in multiple jurisdictions
- Control, guide & support bookkeeping to ensure effective running of operations.
- Managing the financial elements of European and Irish grant fund claims and the company’s R&D Tax Credit submissions
- Writing professional memos on company approach to compliance with key accounting standards
- Support Investor Relations in provision of accounting records and queries for shareholder management and future fundraising activities
- Co-ordinate the company risk register and communicate updates to the company through presentation and written reports.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- A professional accountancy qualification ACCA/ACA/CIMA
- Big Four Trained with at least 5 years PQE
- Experienced working in a Financial Controller role in a Technology related sector
- Experience in preparing statutory audit files for external audit compliance.
- Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
- Excellent understanding of current accounting standards, practices, and guidance.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills, especially with non-finance stakeholders.
