Public Sector Procurement & Contract Management Assistant
- Great opportunity to become a key member of the Procurement team
- Experience in tendering in the utilities sector, under EU directive, 2014/25/EU desirable.
- You will be responsible for the assisting with successful tendering & contract management of goods & services
- You will bring some experience in tendering procedures & processes.
- Manage all procurement processes & decisions in a non-discriminatory, fair, equitable & ensuring VFM.
- Procurement of Goods & Services
- Responsible for the sourcing, negotiation & strategic selection of goods & services
Responsibilities
- Assist with tender process from start to finish in line with EU Directives, Policies & Procedures.
- Evaluate Pre-Qualifications Questionnaires (PQQ).
- Liaise with potential suppliers to assist them with their questions on Procurement portal.
- Manage communication with suppliers.
- Assist the Procurement Team to achieve value for money through tendering.
- Assist with the timely & efficient awarding of contracts.
- Liaise with Procurement & Materials team, internal management & staff.
- Any other requirements set out by Senior Procurement Manager.
- Contract Management - Review & management of contracts put in place by the Procurement Department
- Assist with the development of a contract management plan.
- Develop, build & maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Address & manage supplier issues to ensure the highest level of service delivery.
- Develop, build & maintain relationships with end users.
- Assist with the development of relevant KPIs to assist with analysis of costs & supplier performance.
- Assist with the implementation of procurement change initiatives within category to improve business performance.
- Identify opportunities to increase quality & improve value for money.
- Consider automation of processes, where possible.
Skills & Knowledge required for this role:
- Some exp. in Public Procurement & commercial awareness
- Proven administration skills & exp with a strong interest in Public Procurement career is essential.
- Demonstrated skills & experience in effectively engaging & communicating with a range of internal/external stakeholders, both verbally & through written communication, is essential.
- Experience in processing confidential & time-sensitive information, demonstrating numeric ability, accuracy & attention to detail, is essential.
- Excellent planning & organising skills managing multiple demands, priorities & tight deadlines.
- Can work under pressure & solve problems independently.
- Strong IT literacy (i.e. MS Office skills & software systems - SAP desirable.
- Good judgement, professionalism, confidentiality & discretion in all tasks.
- A third level qualification in a business or similar.
