Environmental Planning Programme Manager

Supply Chain & Procurement | Ireland | Permanent | € 68000 - € 85000 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning applications for large-scale renewable energy projects (Wind, Solar, BESS), ensuring compliance with consenting processes, relevant legislation, and industry standards.
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of the planning process, including assessments, layout design, and Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) development.
  • Monitor changes in legislation, policies, and planning outcomes to identify opportunities and inform project strategy.
  • Oversee Joint Venture partnerships, ensuring Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met and projects are delivered efficiently.
  • Develop and implement project strategies, managing risks, budgets, procurement, and consultant performance across diverse projects.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, ensuring effective communication with local communities, statutory, and non-statutory consultees.
  • Conduct due diligence on third-party investment opportunities, focusing on planning permissions, environmental considerations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of technical professionals, promoting performance and growth.

Requirements:

  • Hons Degree (NFQ 8) in Engineering, Environmental Science, Planning, or related field.
  • Postgraduate (NFQ 9) qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Planning Law, Project Management, Engineering, Environmental Science) is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience, including 3+ years in a Senior Project Manager role managing renewable energy projects.
  • Expertise in planning, environmental assessment, and consenting processes within the renewable energy sector.
  • High competence in programme management, contract management, negotiation, budgeting, and resource forecasting, ideally across projects with varying priorities and timelines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience with Joint Venture partnerships is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in the development and line management of technical teams from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficient in MS Project, MS Word, and MS Excel.
