Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Supply Chain & Procurement | Ireland | Permanent | € 49000 - € 61500 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage mechanical maintenance to optimise plant performance and ensure safety.
  • Procure spare parts and services to maintain long-term asset availability, in line with budget and maintenance management systems.
  • Plan and track long-term maintenance for mechanical equipment.
  • Lead and guide a team of Maintenance Technicians, working collaboratively with other departments.
  • Achieve maintenance plans and targets within safety, economic, and environmental guidelines.
  • Diagnose faults and proactively solve problems, offering innovative solutions.
  • Support the implementation of the plant’s business management system and assist in broader plant management.
  • Communicate with owners, legal authorities, suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with safety protocols and the permit-to-work system.
  • Lead performance management for direct reports, ensuring alignment with team objectives.

Requirements:

  • BEng, BSc, or equivalent Level 8 qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally in power plants or heavy industries (coal, mining, material handling).
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency with maintenance management systems, including preventive maintenance planning and reporting.
  • Middle management level experience with proven leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
