Assistant Accountant

Sanderson are partnering with a leading organisation in the sports sector to recruit an Assistant Accountant for an 8 week temporary cover role. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a dynamic finance team, ensuring financial accountability and operational efficiency during a critical period.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the Accounts Payable inbox.
• Process supplier invoices promptly and accurately.
• Perform supplier payment runs and set up new supplier accounts.
• Reconcile supplier accounts and perform aged creditors analysis.
• Assist with the year-end audit process.
• Complete bank reconciliations efficiently.
• Provide cover for the Accounts Receivable Assistant when required.
• Undertake other ad-hoc duties as they arise.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience in an Accounts Assistant or Accounts Payable role is desirable.
• Familiarity with SAGE 50 or equivalent accounting software is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills, anticipating stakeholder needs.
• Highly proactive, with a positive, "can-do" attitude.
• Hardworking and driven, with the ability to work independently.
• Accountable and dependable, with the ability to motivate others.
