Finance Manager - Not for Profit

Sanderson are partnering with a Not for Profit organisation to recruit a Finance Manager on a 2 year fixed term contract. This Finance Manager will focus on the health and wellbeing programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional finance-related support to the operations business units.
  • Take responsibility for core operational financial procedures, controls, and quality.
  • Oversee the production of management information for various internal and external audiences.
  • Manage the finance operations team, organizing roles, responsibilities, work plans, timetables, and deadlines.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all financial operations functions in line with policies and regulations.
  • Effective treasury management, including programme cash flow, drawdown, and reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with other directorates on operations management, programme developments, performance delivery agreements, and reporting.
  • Report to funders on specific programme financial requirements.
  • Be accountable for allocated budgets and resources.
  • Manage Service Level Agreements and performance metrics for Programme Funding Management.
  • Develop processes to implement policy decisions and assist in the development of new systems.
  • Oversee assigned staff, ensuring they understand their roles and receive necessary guidance.
  • Conduct one-on-ones and performance evaluations to foster staff development.
  • Work with senior management to allocate team resources effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and internal policies.
  • Oversee relationships and communications with external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain effective internal relationships across the group.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience required

  • Qualified Accountant with at least four years PQE
  • Relevant Third Level Degree
  • Experience working in the public sector, charity or non profit sector.
  • Strong experience in developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience negotiating with senior management or government officials.
  • Knowledge or direct experience of Social Inclusion and Employment programmes.
  • Project experience covering requirement gathering, prioritization, planning, and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, SharePoint applications, and portals is an advantage.
