Finance Analyst

Sanderson is proud to partner with a leading semi-state organisation to recruit a Finance Analyst for a permanent opportunity within a high-performing Finance team. This is an exciting role for a finance professional with strong SAP expertise and a passion for data-driven decision-making in the public service sector.

As a Finance Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the Public Service Obligation reporting process. You will work closely with the Finance team to collect, analyse, and report on critical financial data, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with strategic objectives.

This is a dynamic and impactful position, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to continuous improvement in financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • SAP Data Analysis: Perform detailed SAP data analysis for regular and ad-hoc reporting.
  • PSO Reporting Pack: Prepare and deliver comprehensive reporting packs for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Collaborate with Finance Management to consolidate forecasts, plans, and budgets.
  • Meeting & Diary Management: Support meeting preparation and coordinate team schedules.
  • Service Enhancement Review: Assess the financial impact of proposed service improvements.
  • Business Change Review: Analyse business changes affecting PSO activities and provide insights.
  • Operational Data Review: Monitor operational data to identify unacknowledged changes in duties or key metrics.
  • Advertising Review: Evaluate the financial impact of advertising postings by product.
  • Capital Programme OPEX Costings: Review operational costs for OPEX-funded projects.
  • Customer Care Costs: Periodically review customer care support costs for reporting accuracy.
  • Cost Allocation: Ensure accurate allocation of PSO-specific costs.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • A relevant finance qualification with proven experience in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Strong proficiency in SAP for data extraction and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and solid knowledge of MS Office and financial systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and deliver actionable insights.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and consistency.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement in financial processes.
