Senior Construction Buyer- Semiconductor

This company manages complex engineering & construction projects for the world's leading corporations across multiple sectors and countries.

As a senior buyer, you will:

  • Manage the procurement of materials, goods, & services for assigned projects, ensuring cost, quality, & service.
  • Drive added value through strategic sourcing, value engineering, innovation delivery & risk management.
  • Deliver best in class performance through professional, competitive, & efficient buying processes, controls, & systems for the projects.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • For a P2P process from Sourcing to invoice clearance.
  • Conduct complex bid process for equipment, materials, services inc. commercial evaluations.
  • Write Procurement Project Execution Plans & Schedules with project teams & planning functions
  • Secure the quality & timely delivery of goods & services for assigned projects.
  • Negotiate with vendors and Master service & rebate agreements
  • Assist in the reallocation or disposal of excess materials.
  • Ensure Authority Matrix is followed stringently.
  • Create internal report & conduct external reporting for SMT
  • Work with little supervision; mentoring & leading junior procurement.
  • Identify new supplier sources & new sourcing strategies in assigned area.
  • Co-ordinate the logistics of goods &/services required for assigned projects.
  • Work with other buyers & Manager to eliminate waste processes.
  • Assist in proposals support when required.

Essential Criteria

  • Must have construction buying experience in the Semiconductor industry.
  • Experience in a similar role within an engineering or construction company.
  • A third level qualification preferably in supply chain or other related discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal.
  • Strong negotiation skills & min of 6 years' work experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to prioritise workload efficiently.
  • Previous ERP experience ie SAP and Ariba
  • Extensive travel required (in Europe) so you must have a valid EU passport to travel at short notice to different countries

Desirable

  • Some tech knowledge of the Construction Industry would be an advantage.
  • A third level qualification preferably in supply chain, engineering, or other related discipline.
  • Results-driven with project management skills
  • Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, & resilience - being able to adjust positively to situations that involve changing tasks &/or location, shifting priorities or ambiguity.
